Shoot for LYSTO

Creator handbook

How working with LYSTO works

This is the agreement every LYSTO creator accepts during onboarding, plus the delivery spec and the timelines behind each job. Keep it handy — it's the answer to most questions.

Work rules

1.Punctuality & communication

  • Accept or decline every offer before its deadline. Silence counts as a decline and the job is reassigned.
  • Arrive inside the client's arrival window. If you are running late, text LYSTO and the on-site contact at least 30 minutes before the window opens.
  • Keep your availability current. Block time off in the portal before it is booked, not after.
  • Reply to LYSTO messages about an active job within 2 hours during working hours.

2.Property care & professional behaviour

  • Shoes off (or covers on) indoors. Leave every room exactly as you found it — move only what the client has agreed to.
  • Never share lockbox codes, addresses or client details with anyone, and never post a listing before the client has published it.
  • Lock up, return keys and reset the lockbox when you leave. Photograph the lockbox back in place if you were the last one out.
  • Be courteous with agents, owners and tenants. You represent LYSTO on site.

3.Delivery deadlines & quality

  • Upload finished, edited media to the job's Drive folder within 24 hours of the shoot window ending.
  • Photos: straight verticals, blended HDR, neutral white balance, 2K+ long edge, no visible photographer/tripod, no missed rooms. Video: stabilized, colour-balanced, exported in the LYSTO spec. Drone: cleared airspace, no people identifiable.
  • Use the folder structure in the job (photos / videos / floor-plans). Name files in shooting order.
  • LYSTO reviews every delivery before release. A revision request must be turned around within 24 hours.

4.Cancellations, missed shoots & reshoots

  • You may cancel an accepted job without penalty with 48+ hours notice. Less than that counts as a strike.
  • A no-show is a strike, is unpaid, and the reshoot is covered by you at no charge.
  • If LYSTO has to reshoot or refund because the work missed the quality bar, the reshoot is at your cost and the payout is adjusted.
  • If the client cancels inside 24 hours of the shoot after you accepted, you receive 50% of the job payout.
  • 3 strikes in 90 days triggers a suspension review.

5.Payment

  • You receive 80% of the on-site services on each job (pre-tax, after any client discount). LYSTO keeps 20% for booking, client management, payment processing, hosting and support.
  • Travel surcharges the client pays are passed to you in full. Editing, your equipment, insurance and travel inside the service area are included in your rate.
  • Your share appears in your LYSTO wallet as pending when you accept a job and becomes available to withdraw once LYSTO approves your delivery. Nothing is released at acceptance or after the shoot alone.
  • You cash out your available balance whenever you like (minimum 10 CAD) to a bank account connected through Stripe or by Interac e-Transfer. A per-job statement and your cash-out history live in your portal.
  • You are an independent contractor responsible for your own taxes, insurance and licences (including Transport Canada drone certification).

6.Content & confidentiality

  • Media you deliver is licensed to LYSTO and its client for marketing the property. You may show it in your own portfolio once the listing is public, credited as shot for LYSTO.
  • Client lists, pricing and property access details are confidential.
  • Either side can end the relationship at any time; accepted jobs are completed or handed back with the notice above.

Payout math

  • Split. On-site services (packages, photography, video, drone, Matterport, floor plans, on-site add-ons) are split 80/20: you keep 80%, LYSTO keeps 20%.
  • Travel. A client travel surcharge is passed to you in full — it is never split.
  • Discounts. If the client used a coupon, the discount is shared across the on-site lines before the split, so your share is based on what the client actually paid (pre-tax).
  • Not included.AI editing, virtual staging, website activation and other post-delivery items are LYSTO work and aren't part of the basis.
  • Late cancellations. If the client cancels inside 24 hours after you've accepted, you receive 50% of the job payout.

Delivery spec

Photos

  • Edited HDR JPEGs — blended exposures, neutral white balance, sRGB.
  • 2K or larger on the long edge (3000px+ preferred). No watermarks.
  • Straight verticals, level horizons, no visible tripod or photographer.
  • Every room and the full exterior. Twilight or drone stills go in the same photos folder.

Video

  • 4K or 1080p, H.264 MP4, 24–30 fps, stabilized and colour-balanced.
  • Walkthrough tours: 60–120 s. Social reels: vertical 9:16, 15–45 s.
  • No music unless LYSTO supplies a licensed track. Export flat, not letterboxed.

Floor plans & Matterport

  • Floor plans as PDF and PNG, with square footage per level.
  • Matterport tours published and shared with LYSTO (link added in the job).

Folders & file names

  • Upload into the job's folders: photos / videos / floor-plans.
  • Name files in shooting order (01-front-exterior.jpg, 02-foyer.jpg …) so galleries read like a walkthrough.
  • Mark the cover shot with "hero" in the file name.

Timeline

  1. Offer

Accept or decline within 24 hours — or 4 hours when the shoot is inside 48 hours. A reminder arrives 2 hours before the deadline.

  2. 24h before the shoot

Lockbox code, location and access notes unlock in your job page.

  3. Shoot day

Arrive inside the client's arrival window. Text LYSTO if you're running 30+ minutes late.

  4. Within 24h of the window ending

Upload edited files and submit the delivery. A reminder goes out at 12 hours; missing the deadline is a strike.

  5. Review

LYSTO reviews within 1 business day and releases to the client, or sends a revision request — turn revisions around within 24 hours.

  6. Any time

Approved earnings sit in your wallet as available. Cash out to your connected bank account (or by Interac e-Transfer) whenever you like — about 3 business days to land. Pending earnings are shown from the moment you accept a job.
